This is a great, no prep movie guide for The Ransom of Red Chief that highlights key ELA skills to cover during the viewing of the movie. I use the Haley Joel Osment version, but it would work with any version - even with the story.
Student Experience: Students analyze plot, cause/effect, setting, foreshadowing, archetype, and irony while viewing. The questions range up the Bloom's levels. There are also three writing prompts to use following the film, and one compares the film to the text. Last, students will write their own fun, ransom note - parody style - either with traditional magazine cut-outs or virtually via an online generator (links provided).
