Everyone loves a new hotshot artist bursting into the limelight, no greater example of this type of person can be found than Raphael the prince of painters. With this PowerPoint and project students will see themselves in Raphael's works, understand his fame, and see how his creativity can be used in their day as well. Students will look deep into Raphael's life, they will understand his motivations, and they will see how he put his face on just about every artwork he ever did.
This PowerPoint provides a complete biography of Raphael, the famous Renaissance painter. Along with the PowerPoint is a project on alternative self portraiture, which Raphael was so well known for.
The self portrait project can be as simple as paper and pencil but can go as far as a detailed painting. I have noticed High School students cringe at the thought of a self portrait when they see that this project is about ALTERNATIVE self portraits they suddenly see how amazing this work can be.
