This product was designed specifically with Stephen King's novella The Body. However, I have made three of the pages "blank" (that is with no reference to The Body) so you could use this for virtually any characterization activity.
This is designed to have students use evidence from the story as well as the information they are given on the Rat and the Ox. Only two of the zodiac signs are used because the boys in Stephen King's story would have either been one or the other.
This is a great activity to get students to find evidence in texts and practice paragraph writing (key with the essay they'll do later).
This was designed for high school ELL (EFL, ESL) students reading Penguin's abridged version of The Body, but could be used with any level who have read either version of the novella.
This pack contains:
A description of the rat and ox personalities
Space for students to summarize the descriptions
A graphic organizer to help students sort through their evidence
Space for them to write a paragraph
A sample worksheet completed using examples from The Body
