Included in this packet are exemplars of what can be considered a score of 1-4 on a writing rubric. These show a concrete example to students on how they go about attaining each score.
At the beginning of the school year I explain to my students that we are striving for at least what looks like a 3. We then analyze each piece of writing to see how each piece is improved upon. Whether it be in the details of the picture, the use of grammar, choice of words, etc…..
