This product offers 2 activities that use the RoundTable Kagan Structure. You can choose for students to practice identifying and describing the meaning of the rate of change from a verbal description or writing the equation of a line from a verbal description (as well as identifying the rate of change and initial value). Verbal descriptions contain a short description of the situation along with a description of two points. Each set of 8 problems uses the same verbal descriptions but practices the different skills. Verbal descriptions vary in difficulty and include verbal descriptions with consecutive and nonconsecutive inputs, and missing initial values. Students work on collaboration and student-to-student feedback as they complete their portion of the problem and pass it to their next teammate. You can choose to also incorporate an incentive activity (ideas included) to increase motivation. My students loved doing this activity with the puzzle game (students received 3 pieces to a 24 piece puzzle after completing each problem accurately and raced the other teams to get the puzzle completed). If you need more elaboration on the incentive activity ideas, please feel free to message me. I would love to hear your experiences with this activity also as feedback!
