PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A simple SmartBoard Notebook file that starts off with a graphic of a Delaware license plate and the discussion prompt, "Does Delaware deserve to be called the First State?". This is meant to engender discussion of how exactly did the USA form, as a Union or a collection of sovereign states? The following slide lists the names of some of the Federalists and Anti-Federalists and is meant as a research prompt with the objective of teaching students why the Federalists and the Federalist Papers were successful in the debate concerning ratification of the US Constitution. The file is easily convertible to PDF format if you choose to use it as a handout. First used with a pre-IB 10th Grade class, but could be used with younger grades as well.
