Product Description
This activity was created as a cross-curricular assignment between Social Studies (Trading in Ancient Civilizations) and Math (ratio concepts).

The activity includes 12 task cards asking how many of one type of product is need to trade for a number of another type of product. A price list is included. The prices of each item is given in coins, but the student is trading items for items rather than using coins.

An example question is: "If a bolt of silk is worth 30 coins and a bag of cinnamon is worth 12 coins, how many bolts of silk do you need to trade to buy 5 bags of cinnamon?"

The work is good for understanding ratios conceptually.

Answers are included as well as students' Answer Sheets.
