Applications of rational functions in wildlife population, rockets, molarity and dilution and drug concentration over time are used to show the practical uses of rational functions.
Students are expected to find x and y intercepts and horizontal and vertical asymptotes of each of the functions. They graph the function, then separately graph the function within the restricted domain only. Question involve the limiting number, or discuss the in-context significance of values found.
3 pages of worksheets in an editable doc file, plus 3 pages of answers (pdf) are included.
Please see Making Math Matter MMM for further applications of algebra 2, precalculus and calculus. Also follows WNCP curriculum.
