Thank you for your interest in this product!
This product was designed for use as a Math center. It lends itself well to independent small group work, as it requires little to no teacher instruction.
Students must sort the 32 task cards according to whether the given number, definition or example is a rational or irrational number. There are more examples of rational numbers than irrational numbers in this set of task cards.
This resource becomes a simple diagnostic tool to assess if your students understand the concept of rational and irrational numbers, and what defines each. Included in the task cards are the subset descriptors of rational numbers: whole numbers, integers, natural numbers; and included in the irrational task cards are the terms e (Euler’s number) and φ (Golden Ratio).
Your download includes:
• 32 task cards with brightly coloured backgrounds
• 32 task cards with black & white backgrounds (same as coloured set)
• Student recording sheet
• Teacher answer key
