Students learn about other countries and gather information from online sources in this engaging cross-curricular mini-project! Students select one country from each continent (lists are provided) and look up their population, area, and GDP. Students then answer ordering and comparing questions involving the numbers they looked up.
When I did this with my Math Lab classes, we compared all the countries the class looked up and made a class-wide comparison. It led to really excellent discussions about the world economy and geography! This is one of my favorite lessons I've ever done.
