This fun, throwback game allows students to practice their radical and exponent skills in a fun setting. Following the rules of Old Maid, students will have problems that they will need to match with answers, hoping in the meantime to not end up with the old maid card.
There are 15 problems (30 total cards) and each covers rationalizing of denominators involving square roots.
As printed, the problem is on top of the answer. Cut out the cards. Make sure to have the kids shuffle before beginning. I grouped my students in groups of 4 and this seemed to work well.
This game increased confidence and fluency with my students and I hope yours enjoy it too.
