Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship.

In anticipation of teaching 6th grade math for the first time, let me present you with this new poster on ratios. In Grade 6, instructional time should focus on four critical areas: One of which is connecting ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division and using concepts of ratio and rate to solve problems. I hope this poster can help clear up this concept for your students as much as it did for me putting it together.
