Let your students actually apply the math they are learning to the real world! Use ratios and percentages just like a hair stylist would and show the students the math that they learn is applicable! In the activity are 6 different client cards which can be cut to display a client who wants a specific hair color using a color ratio. Students will use different paint colors (red, blue, green, yellow, black and white) to mix together ratios to get the desired color.
Also in the activity is a coloring sheet with three people on it used to paint the hair color on that the students mixed using ratios, display the ratio used to get there, write how much the student charged the client, and calculate how much money they made on the job assuming they make 42% commission.
Materials needed: paint colors in red, yellow, blue, green, black, and white
