Students will demonstrate their knowledge of ratios and proportions. Students will look at a variety of symbols and identify the ratio that represents each, they will write these ratios three different ways : (fractions) "to". They will then determine if each of the ratios in each pair form a proportion. A proportion is created when two ratios are equal. They will write YES if they do form a proportion and NO if they do not form a proportion. Lastly students will have an opportunity to earn extra credit by drawing 10 objects of their choice and identifying ratios in simplest form. * I tell students to refer to # 1 as an example but to use different shapes of different amounts.
