Product Description
Using measurement, Jim makes his new giant friend a pair of glasses, teeth and a new wig! Have your students figure out how tall the giant is using a handprint and relationships within the human body. (In fact, experts suggest the height of an individual is 9 times the length of their hand.)

I give my students a handprint from a person in our building (senior student, basketball player, fellow teacher) who is fairly tall. They have to discover how tall they think "the giant" is based on the handprint and proportional relationships within their own bodies. In the end, I reveal "the giant" and his/her actual height.

This activity is a great companion activity to my product How Tall, How Short, How Faraway in which students discover if they are proportionately perfect.
