This is 283 pages of student pages for use with the novel Ramie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo. Each of the 51 chapters has at least 2 comprehension questions, many have more than that to allow for easy differentiation. At the bottom of each page are suggestions for evidence statements for students to use to start their sentences while citing the text.
There are multiple types of writing paper, including some with self reflection rubrics at the bottom. In addition, there are over 20 different skill-based comprehension activities that can be used with ANY text (Not just this one!) and any chapter. These include skills like summarizing, analyzing quotes, letter writing, and more. I have also included 8 after reading prompts for practicing extended responses and test prep poster pages. (genres, text structure, context clues, and text features)
There is a list of additional book activities.
I also included three types of mini journals to be printed double sided, flip on the short side. You can pick and choose the pages that go into the comprehension journal (plenty of questions students can answer while reading this text), vocabulary journal (with some of the challenging words from this book on separate pages AND blank pages for teacher-created word lists), and character analysis study journal. Adapt to fit the needs of individual students.
There are so many ways to differentiate this text! I loved using it as a read aloud for my class. As a read aloud, you can still differentiate by giving individual students their own questions, depending on the skills they need to practice. It can also be used for novel studies independently or in guided reading groups.
