The chart contains 10 examples of imagery from the short story "Raymond's Run" by Toni Cade Bambara. Students have to determine which of their senses each sentence is targeting. At the end students will make observations about which senses are targeted the most and the least. Then they will theorize why.
After you have assessed that assignment and identified which students need reteaching, you can guide them through an additional activity in which they color-code the sensory words within the quotes.
