This resource is great for teachers who have limited access to novels and guided reading books, and are not sure how to best use their Raz-Kids subscription. Raz-Kids is an online book center with thousands of fiction and non-fiction books for a variety of levels K-6. I use it daily with my 4th and 5th graders and they have never been more interested or excited about reading!
I created this resource to share my tips, organization, and implementation strategies with other teachers who are also limited with guided reading books, or who are tired of reading the same novels year after year. A bonus is that this program has made my reading groups nearly paperless! The growth my students have made is tremendous and I have data to prove it!
In this resource, I explain how I organize my reading groups, how I use the data from quizzes, and how I grade assignments. Please note that this resource does not include lesson plans, it is merely a 14 page implementation guide. Zip file also contains a guided reading group lesson plan template and progress chart for data notebooks.
