Razasiasca (Rural Dance) by a prominent Moldavian composer Vlad Burlea is a fresh take on a traditional Romanian peasants' dance, with its awkward moves, hearty sincerity and catchy tune. Originally written as a piano miniature, the piece has been expanded into a full-fledged orchestral composition featuring a piano solo. String players will have the opportunity to perform a number of techniques, such as mordents, dotted rhythm, con legno and fast runs. A perfect addition to any concert throughout the year, the piece is sure to become a favorite of performers and audiences alike. Intermediate to advanced level.
