This is a Re-Regulation Task Checklist and Task Cards. You would need to get the items to put in the basket/box.
The Re-Regulation basket/box is made to help students de-escalate without adult intervention. It ties in with the Zones of Regulation. When you see a student is in the yellow zone, simply hand them the box and/or direct them to the yellow zone in the room. The student follows the checklist, using the items in the box, and attempts to calm down and get back to the green zone. For some students this may take more than one time. When introducing the box, it needs to be guided by an adult. Then the student(s) should be able to use it independently.
For the checklist, once you have laminated it, fold back the furthest column on the right and glue down, then fold the glued column forward in order to make it able to open so the student can "check" off what they have done.
This takes away any arguing when students are angry, and teaches them ways to calm down without escalating, hurting others, or hurting themselves. This removes the power control. It has worked WONDERS for some of my emotionally challenged students.
