This classroom management tool will help you decrease the number of students sent to the office. It also allows you to continue teaching while the disruptive student takes a moment to reflect on his or her own behavior. (I do not have time to leave class in order to lecture one student on bad behavior and leave 29 more waiting!) After the student completes the ReFOCUS sheet, you will have a written confession in the student's own words of the behavior to add to your file, send to a parent, or if the behavior is bad enough, you may send it with the student to the principal's office. In that case, the student is occupied as you complete paperwork to send him to the office, which is great for you as the teacher!
