Product Description
Introduce the students to criticism of the New Deal on the left (Huey Long) and the right (conservatives). Go over the Supreme Court's reaction to FDR's New Deal policies and Roosevelt's attempts to pack the court. For the activity, students analyze three political cartoons about the attempts to pack the court. The cartoons include two recall questions for students to identify techniques used by the cartoonist and a final question asking for the overall meaning. Students use the cartoons to determine how the artists use different techniques to demonstrate their message. For the exit ticket students analyze a political cartoon on their own.
