This is a detailed study of all 15 of the vocabulary words from Workshop 1 (Survivors) of the Read 180 Stage C Next Generation RBook. Instead of simply having students memorize definitions, this review teaches students the words in context, so they are able to use words in sentences and understand different forms of the same word. The words have been selected from the Workshop 1 of the Read 180 Stage C rbook. They can be used with students who are not using the Read 180 program as vocabulary builders or daily warmups. Each word study is about half a page long and designed to take about 5 minutes of class time. It is designed as a worksheet that students can write on. The vocabulary words are circumstances, urgent, drastic, significant, devoted, aspire, committed, frantically, intent, perspective, intense, insight, effective, philosophy, and anguish. These are especially useful for students who are English Language Learners or who simply struggle with reading fluently and using words properly in sentences. A full definition list and answer key is included.
