These word study worksheets are used for helping students understand vocabulary words more effectively. Instead of simply having students memorize definitions, these worksheets teach students the words in context, so they are able to use words in sentences and understand different forms of the same word. The words have been selected from the Workshop 5 (In the Money®) of the Read 180 Stage C rbook®. They can be used with students who are not using the Read 180® program as vocabulary builders or daily warmups. Each word worksheet is half a page long and designed to take about 5- 10 minutes of class time. These are especially useful for students who are English Language Learners or who simply struggle with reading fluently and using words properly in sentences. Each card is slightly different and include lessons such as example sentences, fill in the blanks, creating synonyms and antonyms, and using various forms of the words. There are 15 vocabulary words in this document, which are: calculate, compensate, moderate, priority, strategy, management, debt, credible, addiction, compulsive, anonymous, impulse, wage, ignorance, and interest. A definitions page is included, so you do not need to be using the Read 180® program to use this packet in your classroom. The packet is 8 pages long of student worksheets, and also includes a page of definitions and a detailed answer key. The student worksheets can be copied off for each student to write in, or projected on an overhead for students to answer.
