I like to use the same read aloud to cover many different comprehension skills. This allows the student to become familiar with the story. Therefore they are spending less time trying to remember what happened in the story and more time learning/ using the comprehension skill.
I also included a short story about another dog with a problem and solution worksheet that students can complete independently. This allows the teacher to work with the students for the Dog Breath Problem and Solution and to use the short story “Bad Max” as an assessment or check in.
There are also mini-posters for the different parts of plot that you can use when introducing plot to your students, or when they are completing activities involving plot. Along with that is a visual that show the progression of the plot and how the elements are ordered. Since this is a skill that is ALWAYS difficult for kiddos I’ve also included a cut and paste plot sequence quiz as well.
Hope you enjoy this product!
