Do you love picture books? Do your middle schoolers (or--GASP!--your teachers) pooh-pooh picture books as "for babies"? I'm so tired of hearing that!
This kit is for librarians and teachers looking to promote multicultural picture books with upper-elementary and middle school readers. I am using this kit as part of my middle school library's Armchair Travelers Read Around the World Challenge. Goals and how-to's are detailed in my blog post at http://www.readerpants.net/search/label/picturebooksaroundtheworld.
The kit includes:
--9 pages of country/flag labels for the picture books you feature. There is a label for 180 countries out of 196 countries worldwide. Aligned to Avery 5160 address labels (30 labels per sheet).
--2-page Reading Challenge record sheet (print front-to-back to record up to 25 titles)
--Excel spreadsheet of 235 picture books representing 79 countries. This spreadsheet is extensive (20 pages when printed), and I will also update the list from time to time. When I do that, I will send TPT notifications of updated files to those who purchase the kit. Almost all the titles on the list are currently in-print (out-of-print titles are noted on the list). Each book listed includes country (arranged alpha by country), title, author, and publication year. Some titles also contain additional notes.
