This Home Reading Record is a great tool to help track of reading and encourage reading at home. I put this record sheet in our daily homework folders and students are to read at least one book each night and record it on the reading log. Each day when I check the folders I put a sticker where the star is for each book they read. I run this reading log front to back and once a student has completed both sides, I hang their record sheet on the wall along with their photograph. We also put a sticky note by the record sheet to keep track of how many books each student has read. Students continue filling out the record sheets until the end of the year when we celebrate our reading accomplishments. This is a very motivating tool for students and a great way to encourage reading at home!
