PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Our students currently use the Read, Draw, Write problem solving strategy from Eureka Math. Students struggle with reading and understanding exactly what the problem says. In an effort to clarify understanding, the literacy strategy of "Somebody Wanted But So" was combined with the Read part of the math strategy. Students must summarize and restate the problem using the SWBST strategy.

Somebody-Who is the problem about?
Wanted-What did they want or what happened?
But-What information is the problem giving you?
So-What are you needing to find out?
Then-What are the steps you need to take to solve it?
