PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Help your students cover CCSS with these FUN activities.
{6 games in all that use CVC and harder words, and some rhyming words, all centered around the initial letter F.} The words used are fox, fan, fish, frog, and flag on one set and the words fire, fork, fly, face and foot.

Activity A- Read the word. Find it on the mat. Cover the picture with the word. The words are: fox, fan, fish, frog, and flag. {I Can sheet, word circles, and additional worksheet.}

Activity B- Read the rhyming word. Find the rhyming word that starts with an "f" on the mat. Cover the rhyming word on the mat: fox/box, fan/man, dish/fish, frog/log, and flag/bag.

Activity C- Look at the rhyming word picture cards. Find the "f" word that rhymes with the word. Cover the rhyming word to cover: fox/box, fan/man, dish/fish, frog/log, and flag/bag.

Activity D- Write the "f" word using the numbered mat. Find the picture that matches it. Cover that word on the mat.

Activity E- Read the word. Find it on the mat. Cover the picture with the word. The words are: fire, fork, face, fly, and foot.

1. Print a “Read, Find, Cover” board, circles (2 students per page), and one “I Can” page per station for student directions.
2. Place pieces at a station. Student should follow the directions on the “I Can” sheet to read, find, and cover the "f" words.
3. Follow up with the worksheet activity if desired.
*All the Read, Find, Cover mats and cards are labeled for easy management.
There are 6 activities in this pack. The “I Can” sheets, circles, and worksheets are labeled with A, B, C, D, E, and F to determine the activity.

RF.K.2 Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes).
RF.K.2a Recognize and produce rhyming words.
RF.K.2b Count, pronounce, blend, and segment syllables in spoken words.
RF.K.2c Blend and segment onsets and rimes of single-syllable spoken words.
RF.K.2d Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. * This activity works on isolating and producing the initial, medial vowels, and final sounds in words with LONG vowel sounds. Although it isn't a specific CCSS in K, my school still teaches this in K.
