Product Description
This 60-page activity packet makes a great literacy center activity. This black and white download includes 30 pages of “Read, Highlight, Draw” and 30 pages of “Read, Rhyme, Draw”.

In the “Read, Highlight, Draw” section, the students are asked to read the sentences provided (2 sentences per page), highlight the rhyming words, and then draw and color a picture to go with each sentence. (Students may use yellow or pink crayons to highlight the rhyming words if they do not have highlighters.)

In the “Read, Rhyme, Draw” section, the students are asked to read the sentences provided (2 sentences per page), fill in each blank with a rhyming word, and then draw and color a picture to go with each sentence.

Note: The sentences are the same in both activities except the children may fill in any rhyming word in the “Read, Rhyme, Draw” section.

The “Read, Highlight, Draw” activity pages work very well for my intervention reading group. Their rhyming skills are improving and they absolutely love to draw, color, and share their pictures with their classmates.

My students using the “Read, Rhyme, Draw” activity enjoy thinking of rhyming words that will make their sentences interesting or silly.

These activities are great for small groups, partner work, homework, morning work, and as independent work. This is also a great activity to leave for substitute teachers.

My kids love this activity and I hope yours will too!
