In Read, Take Notes, Decide, Design, and Write
students are asked to help the Board of Directors at the City Zoo choose the bear for the new exhibit.
Students read passages and take notes (Polar Bears and American Black Bears), then have to decide which bear they would choose and explain their choice.
Students then sketch the exhibit and write the bear information for the sign about the bear that would go on the exhibit.
