Read, Count, Write and Stamp Books help students understand the
relationship between numbers and quantities; connecting counting to cardinality. Students begin by reading I see ___ apples. They look at the apple tree pictured and count the number of apples on the tree. Then they write the number of apples that they counted in the box, in the sentence. After students count and write the number they must then stamp or color the same amount on the ten frame. To make it interesting use seasonal stamps or stickers that match the theme.
You don’t have to sequence these books in number order. To make it less predictable mix up the pages. Pages have from 1 to 10 apples on the trees.
This game is designed to be played in pairs and will help
to develop number identification, counting, counting on,
the skill of subitizing with a die and ten frames along with
addition facts to 12 if you are playing with the 2 -12 game boards.
