Read, Count, Write and Stamp Books help students understand the
relationship between numbers and quantities; connecting counting to cardinality. Students begin by reading I see ___ pumpkins. They count the number of pumpkins pictured. Then they write the number of pumpkins counted in the box, in the sentence. After students count and write the number they must then stamp or color the same amount on the ten frame. To make it interesting use seasonal stamps or stickers that match the theme.
You don’t have to sequence these books in number order. To make it less predictable mix up the pages. Pages have from 1 to 10 pumpkins.
