This is a collection of math journal resources, worksheets, and assessments for Base Ten Standard A2. It focuses on the first half of this standard: reading and writing numbers up to 1,000,000 using the standard form, written form, expanded form, and place value.
*Two student-friendly “I Can” Statements for classroom display. I laminate these and put magnets on them. They stay on our dry erase board until students have ‘hit the target’.
*A Vocabulary Resource Sheet--for teacher and/or student use
*“I Can” statements for student math journals. I cut these in strips and have students paste them in at the beginning of a unit.
*Anchor Chart examples
*“Ways to Write Numbers” graphic organizer. I have students glue these in their math journals.
*A Number Resource Sheet --for spelling numbers with a number rule listed.
*Reading and Writing Numbers Worksheet. I have students roll dice or choose numeral cards to create numbers. They read the number, record the standard form, and then write the number in words.
*Place Value Charts for math journals: filled in, semi-filled in, and blank.
*Worksheet placemat for standard, written, and expanded form.
*2 Standard Form worksheets
*2 Word Form worksheets
*10 Expanded Form worksheets--2 with boxes then same ones with lines instead; applying to both directions; converting to standard form; and with place value true or false.
*5 Place Value Chart worksheets
*4 Mixed Skills worksheets
*1 Two-page Assessment
(Note: This packet does not include inequality, the other half of the standard.)
