These nonfiction Read and Respond pages are great for the months of September, October, and November to help students develop writing stamina, fine motor skills, and higher level thinking skills through written response. We love to discuss the different reading passage topics during morning meeting, which offers an excellent opportunity to provide feedback and show students the variety of ways they can respond to written texts.

I've included two options: Option 1 has students read, trace, and then respond to the passage. Option 2 (ideal for students who don't need handwriting practice) asks students to read and respond to a variety of topics.

These 20 reading, tracing, and responding pages can be used as morning work, in writing centers, or even for homework. By writing about high-interest nonfiction topics, you’ll be targeting reading, writing and critical thinking skills, while also helping students develop fine motor skills!
I hope you and your students love it!
