This is a set of reading practice pages, by Sara Ipatenco, that focus on 33 sight words that kindergartners and first graders should become experts at. The sight words included are those that cannot be easily sounded out. Each page includes a short story with four words your students will be looking for. As they find each of the words in the story, they will tally them. Once they’ve finished reading, students will count how many times they read each of the four words. This packet is a great way to ensure that your students really learn and recognize sight words. It’s also a great way to practice tally marks and counting! My students like to draw a picture of the story on the back of the page if they finish early! Enjoy!
Sight words included are: a, go, I, like, love, of, see, the, to, we, about, are, been, come, do, does, from, many, one, other, said, saw, some, their, there, they, two, want, was, were, what, you, your.
