These are wonderful no prep worksheets that give students practice reading and differentiating between beginning, medial, and ending sounds.
Students read the words, look at the picture, and circle and write the correct word. Included in this set are two worksheets for each of the short vowel sounds a,e,i,o,u and two different lined paper writing templates to print on the back of the page.
I use these in my classroom by printing them off and placing them in plastic sleeves. Then students can use dry erase markers to complete the practice. As an extension, students can turn the paper over to the back and use words from the front in sentences or in a story.
