Page 1: Cover
Pages 2-4: Sentence and picture puzzles - 12 in all. Self checking as each puzzle is a different pattern
Pages 5-6: Two independent worksheets where students read simple sentences and match with the pictures they describe.
Pages 7-12: Set of 24 task cards with a picture at the top and three sentences below the picture. Only one sentence describes the picture. Tell students they must read all three sentences to be sure they have chosen the correct one.
Pages 13-14: One choice of recording sheet to go along with the task cards. Students circle the correct sentence.
Pages 15-16: Answer key for pages 13-14
Pages 17-19: A second choice of recording sheet to go along with the task cards.
Students write A, B, or C. Answer key.
Pages 20-21: A third choice of recording sheet to go along with the task cards.
Students write the whole sentence for each task card.
Page 22: Practice worksheet - Students circle the correct sentence below a picture.
Page 23: Extension activity - students write the sentence from the task card then add another sentence about the picture.
Page 24: Students draw a picture and write one sentence. Then they trade with another student and write another sentence to go along with each other's pictures.
Page 25: Students draw a picture and write two sentences about the picture.
