How do you hold your students accountable during their read to self time? --Beginning Middle End- Illustrate the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Write about the BME using first, next, last.

--Story Map- Identify the story elements from the book.

--Become the Author-Rewrite a new ending to the book.

--Problem/Solution- Draw a picture of the problem/solution and write a description of each.
