PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

How do you hold your students accountable during their read to self time? I require my students to complete ONE of these activities DAILY for a book of their choice (that meets their reading level ability). These are great to help make sure your students are not only reading during read to self time, but they are using comprehension strategies as well.

Responses included:
--Main characters- Identify the 3 main characters from the text. Describe your favorite character and why.

--Beginning Middle End- Illustrate the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Write about the BME using first, next, last.

--Story Map- Identify the story elements from the book.

--Become the Author-Rewrite a new ending to the book.

--Problem/Solution- Draw a picture of the problem/solution and write a description of each.
