This is to use when your students are reading with a buddy. You print this out on colored card stock, laminate it, then cut it out into the shape of a check mark. The students take this with them while reading together. One student is the "reader" and the other one is the "checker". This helps with comprehension and ensures the students are both on-task when reading. After the "reader" reads, the "checker" asks one of the questions on the check mark. It's the checker's job to make sure the reader is answering the questions correctly. When introducing this, I model correct and incorrect behaviors and monitor that the students are using it correctly. When I am confident the students can do this on their own, I pull my guided reading groups. My students really love these, hope yours do too!
NOTE: I changed the font a little bit from the picture, I got some really cute fonts and uploaded a newer version. Please look at the thumbnail to see the new font to make sure you like it! :)
