Reader: My Family and Friends - Nuclear & diverse family themed book

Teaching diversity and equality: A 30 page reader about Jack, a 9 year old boy. Jack introduces his extended family, which consists of traditional nuclear families, and more diverse families.

The diversity represented in the reader is great for class discussion, reflection and most importantly: learning that although diverse, everyone is equal. Some of the pages may be left out, should you feel they are unsuitable for your classroom. The portrayal of diversity in this book is to the point and neutral.

In addition, Jack introduces some of his friends, also a diverse group. The reader has been a great hit in my classroom, so just print and go! A black and white version is included! The files are in PDF format.
