Students get to choose what books they read for independent reading. Why not let them choose how they will report on what they’ve read? Included in this package is a list of 171 different ways to report on a book. These are divided into five sections; writing, speaking, arts and crafts, drama, and hodgepodge which includes many reports that don’t fit neatly into the other categories.
These reports aren’t intended to be part of a major class project, but more as a simpler way that provides accountability for student reading in a motivational format.
Over the course of the school year I had my students choose at least one report from each of the major sections and more from the sections they liked best. However, this can easily be adapted to however you want to implement these book reports into your classroom.
Students love choices, and this provides options for them. Have fun!
