Reader's Responses to Last the Entire Year!
Fiction and Informational Text Responses to use with ANY book!
How to Use Reader’s Response Graphic Organizers:
To use these reader’s responses, each child will have a folder with the reader’s responses in the folder.
Monday: Read fiction book (aloud); Students use Fiction Response to respond to the reading.
Tuesday: Students read fiction book on their own (student choice, no response.)
Wednesday: Read informational text (aloud); Students use Informational Response to respond to the reading.
Thursday: Students read informational text on their own (student choice, no response.)
Friday: Use writing response paper provided for students to write a response about Tuesday’s or Thursday’s reading--this response will be more writing and should be a cumulation of all of the skills responded on throughout the week.
After 9 weeks, start over with the responses and continue all year.
**There are only 9 weeks worth because even though the books change, the skills to respond on do not change. However, the books should get more difficult through the months and the student responses should be more extensive.**
