This is a journal that can be used for 1st grade, 2nd grade, or low reading 3rd grade students. It is meant to be an introduction to writing while you are reading. On the first page, BEFORE reading, students must decide which strategy they are going to work on, how they plan to practice it, and then reflect on how the strategy helped him/her read. The 2nd page pushes students to reflect using thinking stems and to respond in at least 5 sentences. Great for challenging younger readers, starting out readers on writing, or helping struggling readers!
