Description
This resource includes tic-tac-toe board/choice menus for reader's response. It includes the following:
- 5 pages of sentence starters for multiple reading skills and strategies, including predicting, questioning, connecting, author's purpose, visualizing, character traits, monitoring and understanding, cause and effect, sequencing, reference sources, making an inference/drawing conclusions, evaluating, nonfiction text features, summarizing, synthesizing, narrative elements, compare and contrast, determining importance, context clues, text structure, and figurative language
- 11 reader's response tic-tac-toe Boards, each with 3 across, 3 down for a total of 9 squares each, 7 are for fiction, each with completely different questions. There are 4 boards for nonfiction, which also have completely different questions. I have also included a blank board so that you can create your own.
- suggestions for creating your reader's response journals, as well as a reproducible journal page for anyone that prefers binders.
- 2 rubrics are included, one for daily assessment, and one for weekly assessment, with an explanation on their use, and I have also included a blank 4-square reproducible in case you'd like to create your own
- sample responses
- a story map for that specific response
