This small group reader's theater was written for 3 students. Two parts are for girls and one part is for a boy. The story is about Rapunzel who is a normal girl with an unusual name. Prince, a normal boy with a dog's name, thinks he is living a fairy tale and comes to rescue Rapunzel. Rapunzel thinks he's crazy.
This reader's theater is also in my twisted tales pack. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. My scripts are mainly black and white with the occasional color picture on front but no other cutesy stuff so they are cheaper and easier to photo copy and do not distract the readers. This one does have a colored picture on the first page but the rest is black and white.
The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. If you enjoy this script, look for other twisted fairy tales and regular fairy tales at my site. You can even save money by buying them in packs! I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
