Reader's theater is a great way to introduce new concepts to your students while also improving fluency and expression.
This reader's theater script is the perfect addition for your unit on Colonial America. It helps to explain to students how colonization in America began.
In this script, "A New Home," students read about Henry Hudson and the Dutch colonists that began their journeys to America to claim land for the Netherlands. They wanted to use this land to hunt beavers for the fur trade in Europe. It also includes how the English also wanted land in the New World and established his first colony of Jamestown. Students learn how the powerful English King forced out the Dutch as well as Native Americans already living in North America and overtime established 13 colonies in America.
This reader's theater script is part of my complete unit on . DO NOT PURCHASE if you already own that unit.
