Reading And Science Integration: Force and Motion
Scripts with Content for Intermediate Readers.
This Readers’ Theater is a great resource to use in your classroom to integrate reading and science. You can use it in many ways: small group activity, center, or teacher table.
Readers’ Theater is one of the best tools to have students gain fluency, accuracy, and comprehension in reading. It also reinforces listening skills, and teamwork.
This script could be used after the teacher has introduced the unit of Force and Motion to the class. It will be a wonderful activity to reinforce the concepts that a force is either a push or a pull, and that force is used to move objects; also, that motion is movement, and that there are many types of motions, like up and down, back and forth, in zig zag, around and around (spinning), etc. It also talks about friction, and how it can slow down, and stop an object from movement. I would recommend that the teacher used this script as a reinforcement.
