Reader's theater is a great way to introduce new concepts to your students while also improving fluency and expression.
This reader's theater script is a perfect addition to your teaching. It works great when teaching Native Americans, Native American Legends, or even to introduce animal inheritance.
This playful and humorous reader's theater script is about Fox who is envious of Bear's long bushy tail. In effort to get rid of the Bear's tail, Fox tricks Bear by telling him to drop his tail into icy water in order to catch fish. Once Bear sits a while trying to catch fish with his tail, the water freezes around the tail. When Bear stands up, his tail snaps off in the icy water, leaving a short, stumpy tail! Foxed is very pleased with himself. This Native American legend explains why the bear has a short tail.
