We teachers fill our science units with experiments, projects, and all sorts of engaging, hands-on activities. Why not switch it up a little with a literacy connection? Reading across the content areas is so important, particularly for our struggling students. This set of Readers Theater scripts will enhance your weather unit, give kids an opportunity to enjoy a fun reading activity while practicing fluency, and provide differentiation if necessary.
Lovable twins, Tasha and Tio, will engage students in fluency practice. In the scripts, the kids have just found out that their home is in the path of a hurricane. They then help their mother write a shopping list of items to help them stay safe in the storm.
These two scripts are formatted for a small group of five readers or a larger group of 17. This activity is meant to accompany my “Tasha and Tio Prepare for the Hurricane No-Prep Literacy Packet”. I also have these scripts bundled with that activity in my TPT store. Enjoy!
